September 2009, NY400 Week / Holland on the Hudson, presented Pioneers of Change, a festival of Dutch design, fashion and architecture on New York’s Governors Island to celebrate 400 years of Dutch-American friendship. The event was curated by Renny Ramakers/Droog Design and attracted over 25,000 visitors over the course of two weekends.

2012Architecs made an inventory of one year waste in New York and visualized this in a the waste map New York.
For the exhibition in the Flushing House on Governors Island the rooms were filled with typical building materials of New York, with the quantity representing the amount available each month. In a workshop, the public was invited to build with these materials, guided by the Green Worker Cooperative and 2012Architecten.
